Help, I cant wear watches!
The metal on pretty much ANY watch gives me an allergic reaction, but I also can't live without a watch on my wrist.  I've tried leather bands - those break.  I've tried the cloth straps, but those are so bulky for me.  The only watch that I didn't have one was one that was entirely stainless steel, but I can't find another one like that.  I want something a little small.  I was wondering if maybe there's another solution/way around this.  If anyone has any advice about what kind of watch I CAN wear, a brand, a style, anything....please let me know, because I feel so naked without my watch. :)  I don't have enough money to go out and buy me a gold watch or anything ya know?? (Hey I'm going to college! LOL).  Anddddd...I'd prefer it to be silver. So whatever help ya have would be super. :)

Also, MANY watches have a stainless steel back. I'm wearing a plastic Timex right now that says "stainless steel back."

Check out NIXON watches. They are sold in surf and skateboard shops sometimes. They have some that I think are on top of a one piece leather band.

Or try a nylon band. They are not all bulky. Some are like a thick ribbon. I once saw Martha Stewart make some matching watch bands and belts out of grosgrain ribbon.

I'm not sure if this will work because it's actually designed for people with an allergy who want to wear necklaces but here it is anyway:
Paint the back of the watch with clear nailpolish. However you will have to keep repainting it as it wears off.
Hope it works!

my mom has the same problem. she's allergic 2 the metal. try putting clear fingernail polish on the metal if u gotta have 1 of the pretty, silver looking watches. but they also have plastic band watches which r cool, some leathers that don't break. cuz my mom has a watch that has a leather band and she's had it for about 2 yrs now and it hasn't broken on her. at least, not yet. so maybe u can find a really strong leather or somethin if u like those bands. later

Hey! You could wear a clip watch if you want. Those can be cool and they're not really expensive.

I think you can go to www.swatch.com. They have a great selection of watches there.
