AwSoMe birthday present...
I am getting my bellybutton pierced for my 16th birthday. Anyway, I have some questions and stuff for you. First, when they peirce it, do they require you to use a hoop or can you use a barbell? Because I want one of those dangly barbells but someone told me that some places don't let you have one right away. Next, do you have to be 18 in order to get it done, even if you have a parent that will sign for you? (I live in wisconsin). I have wanted my bellybutton peirced for a really long time, but I think 16 is a good age, because I don't think that I will be having any growth spurts or anything. I am excited but I hope that it won't hurt too much. I heard that it can get pushed right out of the middle, is that true? I'm sure that can happen, but what would cause that? if you take care of it, it shouldn't happen right? Where are good places online to buy or check out belly rings? Well thank you for reading my article and if you can feel free to reply, I would love lots of feedback! Thanks.

You dont have to be 18 to get piercings you can be under that butyou hav eto have parent with you. I was only 15 when i got mine done. you can get a barbel if you want that what i got with my top and my bottom. and migrantion can happen i had my bottom done or a couple of months and my body slowly rejected it and now i have a scar there but it is fading and thats ok. just remember if you get piecred you should really really want first

I live in Wisconsin too, you have to be 16 with parent signature, 18 without, so you're fine if your parents do that. Anyway, coming out of the middle of the skin, is actually called migration or rejection. No matter how well you take care of it, it can happen. Sometimes it will take a few months and sometimes it will take years. It happens because there really isn't much to hold onto in the area, other common areas for that to happen is the eyebrow, bridge, nipples, and other surface type piercings. Good luck with it, if you want anymore info, message me.

The only reason why many piercers prefer to use a ring as a starter jewelry is because it's easier to clean than a barbell, but I think it's different for different people. In general, it doesn't really matter. As for the dangly barbell you're talking about, many piercers won't do it with one because the weight of the dangling part can cause the fresh piercing to migrate or reject. I would say start off with a ring, a barbell, or one of those twisted bars...those can look pretty cute, and when it's healed more, and the healing time has passed (around 6 months usually, though some people can take up to a year), then you could put in whatever jewelry you want. And for the age limit...I live in Canada and we only have to be 16 to get something pierced without parent permission...except for the unmentionables... . Good luck with your piercing!!

I'm not sure about the age thing but where I am you have to be 16 and you don't need parental consent-hehe. Anyways my friend got her's done and said it didn't hurt at all. I personally think it's better to get a barbell instead of the hoop-it looks way better. if you go to yahoo you can probbaly search for some places that sell bellybutton jewellery
