Short shirts aren't in anymore. My shirts tend to be just above the middle of my butt, but then again it depends on the shirt. I think, right now, bare midriffs are out of style. If your are short then long shirts don't suit you, because it makes your legs look shorter. If your tall go with a longer shirt, and if your short go with a shirt that stops at about your hip bones.

IMHO: Short shirts are one of the trashiest things to wear. (1) They make you look fatter. Unless you are anorexic, you'll look fater in these shirts because they do nothing to elongate you. I especially hate it when people who are kinda fat or chubby wear short shirts. Its gross. (2) They aren't in style. Maybe in the 80's or 90's... Maybe in the South? (I dont know i live in NE) If you havent noticed (and I'm not talking to the person who wrote this article, just to people in general, so dont get offended, i'm really not a mean person--- i just have a strong opinion about style) long shirts have been in for a number of years. Now long sweaters are in... ones that go over you a$$. Shirtdresses, long shirts, (with belts for a defined waist) are in.. not short shirts, sorry. (3) You look immature in them and like you cant dress your self. (4)You also look like you are looking for attention or like you want someone to bang you on the spot. There's other ways to look sexy with out looking ridiculously trashy... (5)Even if its a , expensive shirt, it's still gunna look cheap. Sorry!

i guess it depends on the shirt. my t shirts cover most of my skin, where as my tank tops are pretty short and dont make it past my belly button, i also like showing off that piercing, and my butterfly on my lower back

I think belly shirts are here to stay. The belly botton has become a real fashion piece. So many girls have belly button rings and it is for people to see them. I thik it is far from sloppy. I have seen very classy looking people showing belly. We are also moving away from the perfect body so girls who are a little heavy are now not afraid for people to see their bellies as well.

i think they're sorta trashy unless you're at the beach or some club in miami where everyone dresses like that anyway...and ooo i know what one of the other ppl said about "pasty jean flub" ughh its a pet peeve. on accident i can understand but if youre gonna show it, at least show something attractive

I think most belly tops look bad unless you're at the beach. In the summer I wear tops that just show a tiny strip of skin, but it's because I'm tall and have a long torso. xx

I don't really like short shirts. Our school is really picky so we just stick super long tank tops under everything. Most people have pasty jean flub too and it looks nasty.

That whole slutty look will pass (hopefully) once the chicks at your school start growing up. I know that during my freshman year it was all about showing your stomach off, and then I grew up a year later and realized how trashy I looked.

I have some fitted tees that are short but my favorite kind of shirt is the long ones that go over your pants like to the top of your pockets. I have a lot of tank tops like that that I even wear under short tee shirts because at my school you get yelled at.

i wear them really long or just below superlowrise jean top hem things. short shirts are trashy unless you are like an exercise person.

I used to wear shorter shirts to show off my stomach when I was a little younger, but now I wear longer shirts. I shop at places like AE, Hollister, Aero, etc and usually their shirts are a little bit longer. If my stomach does show it's usually if I sit down or something. If the shirt is just short (any skin showing), I'll layer a tank top underneath it or just deal if it's only like half an inch.

most of my shirts are fitted style- slightly tight and short, but they only show a inch or 2 of my stomach, i like to show my piercing too. The style today is fitted, so all girls shirts are smaller and i think it looks good. Wearing a full belly showing shirt to anywhere other than a club or dance type of event isn't tastefull at all. Example: i was in church a few weeks ago and there was this girl who was no more than 13 yrs old wearing a sweater that was all out belly showing with low rise jeans and her THONG straps hiked up. Its just not right to wear that kind of outfit for church. But you can still dress really with short shirts....you dont have to show 5 inchs of skin, a little line of stomach showing isnt bad if your outfit is clean and like ashlyn said CLassy.

i only have a few shirts that are reallly short like total belly showing. I wear them in the summer or to parties or something, however sometimes ill wear one to school and have a cardigan over it. All of my regular shirts fit normally and show a little bit of my stomach, hips, and back, i usually buy XS size. Thats more comfortable than wearing a shirt that bares your whole midriff, or a shirt that is wayyy too long, i can't stand long shirts! For the winter i have alot of cute sweaters that are cropped a lil bit and show some skin but its clean and classy looking. I don't think showing your stomach is trashy or anything, its cute if its only a little bit, it adds flare to your outfit!

I think belly shirts are out. They're just too Britney Spears, and there's nothing sexy or cute about them, just slutty. I like my shirts to be just an inch or two above my jeans.

Most of my shirts barly cover all my skin, (I prefer to show off legs rather than stomach) but my shorter ones are just below the belly-button in length.
