Please give me dress advice!

All right, in two weeks my choir will be going to New York City for a huge competition. We are spending three nights in the city, and are attending a different event each night. I have no fashion sense, and am a horrible shopper, but have been told that I need to bring three different dressy outfits for these events. I am going shopping on Saturday, as I currently have no dress clothes.

The three events are:
1. A dinner cruise around Manhattan
2. A broadway show
3. The competition awards ceremony

I am sort of skinny, 5'4", very pale, and have blonde hair.

Could someone please reccomend clothing styles and colors for me to buy on my shopping trip? (Just a side note: I prefer to wear skirts instead of dresses, but I will wear dresses if they look good).

I would get a long black skirt for all three events. Then, for the Dinner Cruise wear a ruffled sleeve blouse in the color of your choice. Wear a colorful sweater with your skirt to the Broadway Show and a black fitting sweater with a silver chain to the Awards Ceremony. You probably have all this stuff already, it's just a case of putting it together. Have a great time! NY can be a bit breezy so make sure you bring a jacket and something warm for day wear.

if your short try something thats also short lik either right above or below the knee so it will make your legs loong longer. and also short dresses look good on short people like me
